As of 2023, the requirements for obtaining Shenzhen household registration through tax payment must fulfill at least one of the following conditions for the past three consecutive years: A legal representative or person in charge of an enterprise who has accumulated tax payments exceeding 3 million CNY; an individual who is the sole owner of a business, with accumulated tax payments exceeding 600,000 CNY in the past three years or a shareholder in a limited liability company or partnership, whose tax payments exceeds 600,000 CNY and whose investment ratio is proportionate to the share of the enterprise's capital in the past three years; sole traders who've accumulated a tax payment of over 300,000 CNY in the past three years; and individuals who've paid more than 240,000 CNY in personal income tax while legally working in Shenzhen.
In addition, the applicant must meet the following criteria:
1. The applicant should be below 50 years of age. However, if the tax payment exceeds the designated amount by more than twice the limits, the age limit for applying for a household registration can be extended to 55 years old (not including).
2. The "service location" column in the applicant’s household registration must reflect that the individual is employed by government agencies or institutions (departments, offices, bureaus, etc.). They should provide attestation from their employer indicating that the employee has not been dismissed, and they declare that they agree to move their household registration.
3. The applicant must have no records of engaging in any banned national organizations or activities.
Applicants must also present the following documents: tax certificates, screenshots from the Industrial and Commercial Bureau of the company and shareholders with the official seal, household registration book, identity card, marriage certificate (if applicable).
It may take one to two months to apply and fulfill the procedures.
