With the implementation of new regulations in 2023, the process of settling down and paying taxes in Shenzhen has become more stringent. Those who wish to establish their residency and pay taxes in Shenzhen must meet one of the following conditions:
1. Legal representatives or responsible persons of enterprises who have accumulated tax payments of over 3 million RMB in the past three years.
2. Owners of personal sole proprietorships who have accumulated tax payments of over 600,000 RMB in the past three years, or natural person shareholders of limited liability companies or partnership enterprises who have contributed capital and have a proportionate share of tax payments of over 600,000 RMB.
3. Individual business operators who have accumulated tax payments of over 300,000 RMB in the past three years.
4. Individuals who have legally paid over 240,000 RMB in personal income taxes while employed in Shenzhen.
In addition to the above conditions, applicants must meet the following requirements:
1. Age of no more than 50 years old. The age limit can be extended to 55 years old for individuals whose tax payments are more than twice the prescribed amount (not including individuals aged 55).
2. Applicants who work for government agencies or public institutions must obtain a certificate from their employer indicating that they are allowed to move their residence and must provide a photo of their updated household registration book.
3. No records of participation in activities of prohibitive organizations or activities.
The required application materials include tax payment certificates, screenshots of relevant documents from the Industry and Commerce Administration, household registration books, IDs, and marriage certificates (if applicable).
The processing time for the application is approximately one to two months. By following these requirements and preparing the necessary materials, individuals can navigate the process of settling down and paying taxes in Shenzhen with ease.
