Looking to move to Shenzhen and pay taxes? The city has recently introduced new policies which require applicants to fulfil certain criteria in order to qualify for resident tax-paying status. Applicants must meet the following conditions:

1. Be the legal representative or person in charge of an enterprise with an accumulated tax payment of over 3 million yuan in the past 3 years.

2. Be the owner of a personal sole proprietorship company or a natural shareholder in a limited liability company that has paid at least 60,000 yuan in taxes for three consecutive years, or have invested an amount in the enterprise's capital that is proportionate to their share in the enterprise.

3. Be the operator of a sole proprietorship enterprise who has paid at least 30,000 yuan in taxes for three consecutive years.

4. Be legally employed in Shenzhen and have accumulated a personal income tax payment of over 240,000 yuan in the past 3 years.

In addition, applicants must be under 50 years old (55 if their tax payments exceed twice the requirements), and have no records of participating in any government-prohibited activities or organizations. For those working in government or public institutions, additional paperwork is required.

To apply for resident tax-paying status in Shenzhen, you will need to provide proof of tax payments, as well as documents such as your business registration and shareholder information (if applicable), your household registration book, ID card, and marriage certificate (if married).

The process of obtaining resident tax-paying status takes around 1-2 months. With these new policies in place, moving to Shenzhen and paying taxes has become simpler and more accessible for those who meet the necessary criteria.
